Chiropractic & Autism – Another Piece to the Puzzle
“I cried, because I just never expected him to win an award like this”

A recent study in the Journal of Pediatric, Maternal, and Family Health may help shed some light on how chiropractic care can address behavioral symptoms associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The case series describes how chiropractic care affects the “social engagement” system of the vagus nerve. Improper function of this nerve can cause difficulties in gaze, interpretation of human voice, facial expressions, and head gestures in children with autism.
By analyzing and correcting the cause of nerve interference from subluxation, the children not only saw improvement in those areas, but also bedwetting, picky eating, constipation, auditory/processing tasks, motor skills, and spatial awareness — one child even won a “Most Improved Student” award!
